• Murphy’s points broke her previous career mark of 15 at Chicago on July 10, 2009. She had 18 in the first half alone, and started the second half in place of Ebony Hoffman. She also added 10 rebounds to record her first double-double in a Fever uniform and the second of her career.
• Indiana took a four-point lead in the overtime on a Catchings jumper with 1:27 to play, 86-82. Epiphanny Prince drew the Sky within a bucket and Sylvia Fowles had an open shot to tie it with 19.6 seconds to play, but was blocked by Catchings. Catchings hit a pair of charity tosses for an 88-84 advantage. A Fowles layin with 13.5 seconds remaining made it 88-86 and one second later, Briann January’s four free throws in the final seconds gave Indiana the six-point win to match its largest lead.
• Sylvia Fowles led four double-figure scorers for Chicago. She scored 22 points with 12 rebounds, and Epiphanny Prince adding 20. Cathrine Kraayeveld scored 16 points and Shameka Christon had 11.
• With Indiana leading 78-76, Chicago had a chance to knot the score with 30 seconds remaining, but Dominique Canty’s shot under the bucket was blocked by the Fever’s Sutton-Brown. On the ensuing possession, Tamika Catchings missed a pair of free throws to allow a tying bucket from Sylvia Fowles with 14 seconds in regulation.
• Indiana’s biggest lead of the contest came with 2:25 remaining on a Katie Douglas feed to Tamika Catchings for a 78-72 advantage. The Fever owned a 9-4 lead in the game’s early minutes, but trailed virtually the entire game.
• In a high-scoring first half that ended with Chicago owning a 52-50 advantage, Indiana shot 58 percent from the floor and the Sky shot 57 percent. The Fever made 5 of 7 3-point attempts to keep pace.
• Indiana led early in the opening period before Chicago went on a 16-2 run to take command in the first half. The Sky led by as many as 12, 33-21, and did not relinquish the lead until Murphy knotted the score with a pair of free throws with 1:16 before intermission.
